9What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?

11His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.

I. 모두가 어떤 사랑하는 것이 있습니다.

사랑하는 것이란, 어떤 사람이나 또는 다른 어떤 것보다 생각을 더 많이 하는 것을 의미합니다. 사랑 자체에 애정을 얽고, 사람이 행동하는 이유의 원천이 됩니다. 많은 사람들이 사랑하는 것은 돈입니다. 그들의 생각은 황금 철도에서만 실행될 수 있습니다. 

그러나 인색한 자의 보물을 경멸하고, 기쁨의 발 아래에 그들의 제물을 던지는, 더 가볍고 평온한 성향의 다른 사람들이 있습니다. 그것을 위해 그들은 살며, 그 안에서 즐거워합니다. 세상과 세상의 사물들이 그들의 사랑하는 사람을 구성하고, 맹목적인 헌신을 얻으려고 노력합니다. 아니, 나의 소망은 예수님이 다른 어떤 사람보다 무한히 더 좋으며, 다른 어떤 사랑하는 사람도 그분과 비교할 수 없다는 것을 보여주고, 느끼고, 당신이 느끼도록 하는 것입니다.

II. 그리스도는 모든 사랑하는 사람들을 능가합니다.

1. 그분은 아름다움에서 먼저 그렇게 합니다. 

그녀가 사랑하는 사람에 대하여 남보다 우월함이 무엇인지 보여 달라는 도전을 받았을 때, 배우자의 입술에서 흘러 나오는 묘사는 얼마나 훌륭합니까. 그녀는 "나의 사랑하는 자는 희고도 붉어, 만 사람에 뛰어난다." 라고 외칩니다. 

여기에 사랑스러움의 완벽함이 있습니다. 단순히 붉거나, 창백한 것이 아니라, 둘 모두에 아름다움이 있을 수 있지만, 흰색과 붉은색, 장미와 백합이 합쳐진, 같은 사람에서 만나는 가장 아름다운 대조입니다. 오, 우리의 사랑하는 사람은 그렇지 않습니까? 당신의 사랑하는 사람은 이제 희고도 붉습니다.

2. 그분이 내 사랑에 보답한다는 점에서, 우리의 사랑하는 사람은 남보다 더 좋습니다.       내가 그분을 향한 사랑의 한 방울마다, 그분의 마음에는 나를 위해 가득 찬 바다가 있습니다.

3. 그분은 결코 슬픔의 원인이 아니기 때문에, 다른 어떤 사랑하는 사람보다 더 좋습니다.

당신은 고통을 주지 않거나, 눈물을 가져오지 않는 다른 사랑을 알려줄 수 있습니까?  지상의 꿀은 항상 쓴것과 섞여 있으며, 이 세상에서 가장 아름다운 장미에는 항상 가시가 있습니다. 그러나 예수님은 모든 기쁨이 있는 사랑하는 사람입니다. 그분의 우정은 꿀보다 달콤하고, 샤론의 장미에는 가시가 없습니다.

4. 다른 사랑하는 사람들은 너무 지나치게 사랑받을 수 있지만, 예수님은 결코 그렇지 않습니다.

그분에 대한 사랑은 결코 올무가 될 수 없습니다. 그분에 대한 사랑은 어떤 제한도 필요하지 않으며, 또 그런 제한도 없습니다. 그분을 열정으로 사랑하십시오. 그러면 당신은 그분을 반 정도로 사랑하지 않을 것입니다.

5. 죽음이 우리를 그분에게서 빼앗지 못한다는 점에서, 우리의 사랑하는 사람은 다른 사람들보다 더 좋습니다.

6. 다른 사랑하는 사람은 나를 위해 죽지 않았지만, 예수님은 그렇게 하셨습니다.

사랑으로 바친 희생은 위대하고 경이롭습니다. 우리가 그분을 사랑했기 때문이 아니라, 그분이 우리를 사랑하실 것이기 때문에, 우리의 사랑하는 사람은 우리를 죽을 때까지 사랑했음을 기억하십시오. 그래서 우리는 여기에서 적들에게 보여준 친구에게, 친구로서 보여준 것 이상의 사랑이 있다는 것을 인지 할 것입니다.

7. 우리의 평가에서 우리의 사랑하는 사람은 다른 어떤 사람보다 더 좋습니다.

다른 사람들이 그분을 어떻게 생각하든, 나에게 그분은 만명 중에서 가장 최고입니다.

I. ALL HAVE SOME BELOVED. 

By a beloved I mean any person or anything that more than any other occupies the thoughts — entwines about itself the affections and constitutes the mainspring of the person's actions. The beloved of many is money. Their thoughts can only run on golden rails. But there are others of lighter, gayer dispositions who laugh to scorn the miser's treasure and cast their offerings at the feet of pleasure. For it they live, in it they revel. The world and the things of the world constitute their beloved, and they woo it with a blind devotion. No, my desire is to show and feel, and make you feel, that Jesus is infinitely more than any other, and that no other beloved can possibly be compared to Him.

II. CHRIST SURPASSES ALL BELOVEDS.

1. He does so first in beauty. 

How magnificent is the description that flows from the lips of the spouse, when she is challenged to show the superiority of her Beloved. "My Beloved," she exclaims, "is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand." Here you have the perfection of loveliness — not merely ruddy, nor only pale, though there may be beauty in both, but white and ruddy, the rose and the lily united, the fairest contrasts meeting in the same person. Oh, is it not so with our Beloved? Your Beloved is white and ruddy now.

2. Our Beloved is more than others in that He reciprocates my love. 

For every drop of love I have towards Him, there is in His heart an ocean full for me.

3. He is more than any other beloved also, because He is never a cause of sorrow. 

Can you point me to any other love that never gives a pang or brings a tear? Earthly honey is always mixed with gall, and this world's fairest rose is ever accompanied with thorns. But Jesus is a beloved who is all joy. His friendship is sweeter than honey, and the rose of Sharon has no thorns.

4. Other beloveds may be loved too well, but Jesus never. 

Love to Him can never become a snare — love to Him need not and should never have any restraint. Love Him to a passion, and you will not love Him half enough.

5. Our Beloved is more than others in that death robs us not of Him.

6. No other beloved died for me, but Jesus did. 

Great and wonderful are the sacrifices that have been made through love. Remember our Beloved loved us unto the death, not because we loved Him, but because He would love us. So you will perceive that we here have love beyond that ever shown by friend to friend displayed to enemies.

7. Our Beloved is more than any other beloved in our estimation. 

Whatever others may think of Him, to me He is the chiefest among ten thousand.
