Revelation 2:6-7

6But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

6But there is one thing you are doing right. You hate what the Nicolaitans+ are doing, and so do I. 7 If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will let everyone who wins the victory eat from the life-giving tree in God's wonderful garden.

6오직 네게 이것이 있으니 네가 니골라당의 행위를 미워하는도다 나도 이것을 미워하노라 7귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을지어다 이기는 그에게는 내가 하나님의 낙원에 있는 생명나무의 과실을 주어 먹게 하리라

I. 오류에 대한 저항.

1. 종교적 오류의 원인은 종종 많은 모호함을 수반합니다.

2. 종교적 오류의 표현은 교리뿐만 아니라 행위들에도 있습니다. 아아, 교리에는 정통하지만, 성격은 부패한 사람들이 있습니다. 왜 이렇습니까?

(1) 왜냐하면 건전한 교훈이 머리 속에 있으나, 결코 마음에는 들어가지 아니합니다. 그래서 그 마음이 행동으로 나타나는 근원이 되기 때문입니다.

(2) 왜냐하면 때때로 유혹하는 영이 갑자기 충동을 일으켜, 잠시 믿음을 묻어버리기 때문입니다.

3. 종교적 오류에 대한 변호는 일반적으로 신성한 권위에 의지하는 것입니다. 스스로를 "사도"라고 하는 사람들은 배교자가 될 가능성이 더 큽니다.

4. 종교적 오류의 확산은 종종 매우 빠릅니다.

(1) 왜냐하면 타락한 상태에 있는 인간의 본성은, 진리보다 그것을 더 좋아하기 때문입니다.

(2) 왜냐하면 종교적인 오류주의자들은 일반적으로 광적인 선전가들이기 때문입니다.

5. 기독교인들은 종교적 오류의 존재 자체를 미워해야 합니다. 지성, 마음, 영혼에 이보다 더 저주스러운 것은 없습니다.


Ⅱ. 참을성 있는 인내. 인내가 필요했습니다 —

1. 왜냐하면 진리를 전파해야 했기 때문입니다. 인간의 어리석음, 편견, 무관심이 이것을 필요로 합니다.

2. 왜냐하면 저항에 직면해야 하기 때문입니다.

3. 왜냐하면 기다림에는 인내가 필요하기 때문입니다. 기독교인 사역의 결과들은 한번에 이루어지지 않으며, 투자한 수고를 보상할 만큼 그렇게 명백하지도 않습니다.


III. 사랑의 부식.

1. "기억하십시오." 과거를 되돌아보고, 첫사랑의 달콤하고, 섬세하며, 꽃이 만발한 애정과, 그것이 불러 일으킨 모든 신선한 기쁨과 희망을 떠올리십시오.

2. "회개하십시오." 이것은 울고, 훌쩍이고, 고백하며, (다시) 자신을 황홀경에 빠지게 하라는 것을 의미하는 것이 아니라, 삶의 영혼과 목적에서 변화를 하라는 것을 의미합니다.

3. "재생하십시오" — "당신이 처음에 하던 일을 하십시오." 당신의 과거의 삶을 되돌아보고, 옛 감정을 재현하고, 옛 노력을 다시 시도하십시오.

4. "(불안에) 떠십시오." 타락이 계속되면, 파멸은 불가피합니다.

I. OPPOSITION TO ERROR.

1. The origin of religious error is often involved in great obscurity.

2. The manifestation of religious error is in deeds as well as doctrines. There are those, alas l who are orthodox in doctrine, but corrupt in character. Why is this?

(1) Because the sound doctrine remains in the head, and never enters the heart, and the heart is the spring of action.

(2) Because sometimes the tempting spirit suddenly excites impulses which for a time bury the beliefs.

3. The defence of religious error is generally by an appeal to Divine authority. The men who set themselves up as "apostles" are more likely to be apostates.

4. The dissemination of religious error is often very rapid.

(1) Because human nature in its depraved state has a greater affinity for it than for truth.

(2) Because religious errorists are generally zealous propagandists.

5. The very existence of religious error should be hated by Christians. Nothing is more damning to the intellect, heart, soul.


II. PATIENT ENDURANCE. It needed patience —

1. Because it had to disseminate truth. The stupidity, prejudices, and indifferentism of men call for this.

2. Because it has to encounter opposition.

3. Because patience is necessary to wait. The results of Christian labour are not reached at once, and are seldom so manifest as to compensate the labour expended.


III. THE DECAY OF LOVE.

1. "Remember." Review the past, and call to mind the sweet, delicate, blooming affection of thy first love, with all the fresh joys and hopes it awakened.

2. "Repent." This does not mean crying, weeping, confessing, and throwing yourself into ecstasies, but a change in the spirit and purpose of life.

3. "Reproduce" — "do thy first work." Go over thy past life, reproduce the old feeling, and re-attempt old effort.

4. "Tremble." Let declension go on, and ruin is inevitable.
