Message to the Church in Thyatira
20Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 25But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. 26And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 28And I will give him the morning star. 29He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The Letter to Thyatira
20 But I still have something against you because of that woman Jezebel.+ She calls herself a prophet, and you let her teach and mislead my servants to do immoral things and to eat food offered to idols. 21I gave her a chance to turn from her sins, but she did not want to stop doing these immoral things.
22I am going to strike down Jezebel. Everyone who does these immoral things with her will also be punished, if they don't stop. 23 I will even kill her followers.+ Then all the churches will see that I know everyone's thoughts and feelings. I will treat each of you as you deserve.
24Some of you in Thyatira don't follow Jezebel's teaching. You don't know anything about what her followers call the “deep secrets of Satan.” So I won't burden you down with any other commands. 25But until I come, you must hold firmly to the teaching you have.
26 I will give power over the nations to everyone who wins the victory and keeps on obeying me until the end. 27-28I will give each of them the same power my Father has given me. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash those nations to pieces like clay pots. I will also give them the morning star.+
29If you have ears, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
20그러나 네게 책망할 일이 있노라 자칭 선지자라 하는 여자 이세벨을 네가 용납함이니 그가 내 종들을 가르쳐 꾀어 행음하게 하고 우상의 제물을 먹게 하는도다 21또 내가 그에게 회개할 기회를 주었으되 그 음행을 회개하고자 아니하는도다 22볼지어다 내가 그를 침상에 던질 터이요 또 그로 더불어 간음하는 자들도 만일 그의 행위를 회개치 아니하면 큰 환난 가운데 던지고 23또 내가 사망으로 그의 자녀를 죽이리니 모든 교회가 나는 사람의 뜻과 마음을 살피는 자인 줄 알지라 내가 너희 각 사람의 행위대로 갚아주리라 24두아디라에 남아 있어 이 교훈을 받지 아니하고 소위 사단의 깊은 것을 알지 못하는 너희에게 말하노니 다른 짐으로 너희에게 지울 것이 없노라 25다만 너희에게 있는 것을 내가 올 때까지 굳게 잡으라 26이기는 자와 끝까지 내 일을 지키는 그에게 만국을 다스리는 권세를 주리니 27그가 철장을 가지고 저희를 다스려 질그릇 깨뜨리는 것과 같이 하리라 나도 내 아버지께 받은 것이 그러하니라 28내가 또 그에게 새벽 별을 주리라 29귀있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을지어다

I. "이미 가지고 있는" 것이 있습니다. 이것이 무엇인지 알아봅시다.

넷째, 하나님의 방법에서 자유와 위로가 있다는 것을 생각하십시오.

Ⅱ. 그러므로 우리에게 "굳게 잡아라"하는 것이 있다고 가정해 보겠습니다.
이것은 반대편으로 돌아서 뒤로 물러가는 자들과 옆으로 비켜서 그릇된 길로 가는 자들을 대적하는 것입니다. 그리스도의 형상을 닮아, 거룩함과, 열심과, 사랑 안에서, 발전과 진보가 있게 하십시오.
"굳게 잡아라"는 말은 우리가 결코 놓아서는 안 되는, 어떤 확고한 진리의 원칙들이 있음을 의미합니다. 버리지 말아야 할 '건전한 말의 형태'가 있습니다. 그리스도의 위엄, 그분의 희생에 대한 효능, 그분의 중보에 대한 승리, 그분의 재림과 영광 중에 다시 오신다는 사실, 우리는 우리의 삶을 포기해야 합니다. "굳게 잡아라"는 적용할 특정 방법들과 수단들이 있음을 암시합니다.

I. THERE IS SOMETHING "WHICH WE HAVE ALREADY"; LET US INQUIRE WHAT IT IS. First, have we obtained pardoning mercy? Secondly, have we obtained justifying grace? Thirdly, there is sanctifying power. Fourthly, suppose freedom and comfort in the ways of God. Fifthly, suppose a sweet sense of the love of God in the soul. Lastly, have you obtained an interest in the promises?
II. Supposing, then, that we have something, "HOLD FAST." And this is opposed to those who turn round and go back, or who turn aside and go astray. Let there be an advancement and progress in holiness, in zeal, in love, in conformity to Christ's image. When it is said, "hold fast," it implies that there are certain fixed and determinate principles of truth, which we are on no account to let go. There is a "form of sound words," which is not to be relinquished. The dignity of Christ, the efficacy of His sacrifice, the triumph of His mediation, the fact of His advent and coming again in glory, we are to give up only with our liven "Hold it fast" implies that there are certain means and instrumentalities to be employed. "What I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch." Consider what you will lose, if you hold not fast the things which you have already obtained. And, again, if you lose what is gained, the dishonour and shame are greater than before.
